Managing Change | Minnesota General Contractor

After proper safety measures, clear communication is the most important factor to a project's success.

Our up-front investment with owners and designers to understand your organization's construction objectives minimizes hassles down the road: this helps to quickly identify concerns around scope, cost, scheduling, resource availability and construction feasibility.

When construction begins, our weekly job site meetings are attended by owners, architects, building managers, Watson-Forsberg project managers and superintendents, and others (e.g., engineers, subcontractors) as necessary.

To ease communication we conduct weekly meetings to cover:

  • Schedule and progress-to-date
  • Review of relevant logs/progress with 3rd parties (e.g., subcontractors, government permit agencies, etc.)
  • Safety
  • Submittals
  • Budget and spend review
  • Review of planned spend and actual spend-to-date
  • Document/issue update
  • RFI, ASI, PR
  • Unanticipated issues, e.g., change orders (where applicable):
  • Potential conflicts, review possible changes with schedule/cost/ sustainability implications
  • Outline alternative means and methods to address issue
  • Next steps discussion
